back to my journal

kickstarting back my journal.

well, its 10:47 (48…49…) in the morning, and im waiting at home by myself, and we’re leaving warner robins for st louis tonight.

oh yeah, you may notice that i havent updated here in a llllooooonnngggg while, since ive been busy being a busy snowleopard around LJ. in fact, i also did my first fanfic of sorts at DA. so far, no one’s commented on it ;_;, so im like, screw it anyway.

ive also looked at LJ for any forums talking about “black” people. in fact, i joined to express how i felt about black people and their culture of stupidity and ignorance. you’d prolly be offended by my comments there.

i joined since, of course, im not an artist type of fur like alot of my friends are, and i have yet to write a fur story (ill try it out soon, though!), but most of all i joined it because im simply an odd type of person ^w^

i also started and , in case you guys are interested in looking over there. im prolly going to leave them alone and see how they are in, say, a few months.

and plus, ive gotten interested in rock music from japan and mexico. The Pillows in Japan, and Molotov, Kinky, and Cafe Tacuba in Mexico, these bands are tight as hell!

I wonder if they have any bands like them in, say, South Africa? hmmm….

anyway, ill try to update more on this journal.

ooh, i also got my own furry code! its on my user info thingie, so if you know anything about whatever the hell a furry code is and does, please tell me. the main, if not only reason why i got one was because theyre so common among furs.

*yawn* im going back to bed…

  1. Yanno…

Racism is pretty stupid when you come to think of it. Stupid, and dangerous. Kinda like religion, but I’m not gonna get into that today.

Yeah. I’m a white guy. All my friends are white. (Well, except for Eathan, we’re not quite certain WHAT he is) Mostly because of where I live. But I do try and stay Very open about other people, no matter what color their mom and dad happened to be. =P But at the same time, i like to joke about it with my close friends. My co worker Bjorn, for example…. O_o German kid, somewhat demented, but a good person, Even though he does some things that set my teeth on edge.
But we joke back and forth about him being german and all that, and it’s ALL cool.

I think in the end, unless it’s a direct malice against you because of your circumstances of birth, it should just be shrugged off. Though it IS a low blow against someone over Race. But if they do…

Tell them you’re not Black, You’re a Mulatto. ^^;;; That’ll shut them up.

    1. Re: Yanno…

      i would, and i think ive done that a few times, lol. besides, my nephew and my niece are both mulatto, and im (and my two 30-ish sisters are) lighter-skinned than both my mom and dad. not like there’s anything gained by that, i mean. ^^;

the term I use now is “Afro-Diasporian”, since it reflects that Im a descendant of the African diaspora, also known as the Transatlantic Slave Trade.I know its prolly a mouthful to say IRL, but its better than “black” in most ways.

      1. Re: Yanno…

Yeah, It’s always good to take some pride in your heritage. … Except mine, which is irish mafia…

You didn’t just hear that. Nobody did.

  2. *just in response to your post about movies…hope your ok with me posting this in your comment section.*

i agree black/african american culture is becoming a parody of itself and (being african american) i myself try to avoid it. these movies are not movies that my family and i enjoy or hold up as the epitome of black theatre. but working as a screenwriter and interning at a production company alot of what is released by the media, these movies, are the only things that people think will sell. when a screenwriter or producer pitches an idea to an exec they decide whether it is something profitable for them and the above movies have been pretty successful considering the pointless-ness of them. i’m sure there are plenty of screenwriters and producers lobbying and pitching for other types of black cinema but their ideas are being turned down because of what the mainstream public likes and because of what the company thinks will make them the most money. a lot of this is just entertainment politics.

and true there are a shitload of black people that take to heart the stereotypes that these movies glorify but from my perspective they’re only a handful of the black population.
