The last release of Windows XP was in 2001.
That same year, Mac OS X 10.1 was released.
Fast forward to 2006:
Windows Vista was declared “Ready for Manufacture” earlier this week.
Mac OS X began selling its Intel-based computer line this year.
…………………..
I wonder….why the wait?
If Apple and Microsoft are so seriously opposed to each other in the desktop market, then why did Microsoft wait for this entire time to release a new Windows version until Apple launched Mac OS X on Intel processors?
Did the deal between Apple and Microsoft to release and sell Microsoft products for the Mac OS (including Internet Explorer, Virtual PC, and Microsoft Office) go much further than that?
Otherwise, why would Microsoft give Apple such *blatantly* obvious headway on the desktop?
Maybe this video has alot to do with it?
