In relation to representing PFLAG Columbus, GA at the city council meeting next Tuesday, I have realized two things while talking with both Jeremy and Debbie in re PFLAG:
- just as I’ve learned with Middle Georgia State College Gay-Straight Alliance and with Torch – Columbus GA UU Youth/Young Adults, if we’re not holding *weekly* meetings, we’re not being much of a support group.
- We need to hold weekly PFLAG meetings on a day that is most accommodating to members, so that individual members can periodically come on whatever date is most convenient. People have stories to tell and solutions to hear, and monthly meetings for support groups don’t cut it. Weekly meetings work.
