Brooklyn, Illinois is argued to be the first black town in the U.S. Located in East St. Louis, this town and its population have been forgotten over the years. At one time Brooklyn was thriving. It has a rich history including being a stop on the Chitlin’ Circuit. Over the years outside influences have succeeded in dismantling this historic town. With a new bridge planned to end up in Brooklyn, will it help this community or further diminish this forgotten town. 2003 Documentary.
