Travel to Isle de Jean Charles, an island in Terrebonne Parish that once encompassed more than 22,000 acres and for centuries was home to hundreds of Native American French-speaking families. Today, only 320 acres and 4 families remain, and it is the site of a first-of-its kind resettlement effort.
