I feel like I’ve been spending a bit of my life catching up on what I missed in the 1990s and 2000s.

A Perfect Day at the Afropunk Festival
#AFROPUNK #creativity
We all have our version of what constitutes a perfect day. That image can change given where we are in our life at any given time. Since I’m committed to logging at least 10,000 steps daily, a perfect day for me is sharing an active outdoor adventure somewhere visually interesting with people I love. With that as the criteria, Saturday was a perfect day. I went to the Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn with my friends Ruth LaFerla and Deb Mitchell.

It came about by accident. Ruth and I had gone to the movies on Friday night. She told me she was going to the festival the next day for a story she was going to write for the New Yorks Times style section where she has worked for the last 15 years. When she heard me gasp, she asked if I wanted to come…

Yet another reminder that Red Pillers aren’t just insufferable misogynists; they also tend to be racist as hell.
For proof, look no further than this comment from a TOP ENDORSED COMMENTER in the Red Pill subreddit with dozens of upvotes. The topic at hand: that video from a virtually all-white University of Alabama sorority that looked a bit like a recruitment video for the Stepford Wives.
Naturally, the Red Pillocks love the video, especially its unbearable whiteness of being. Don’t cut yourself on the “edgy” racism below.

Hey Reddit, you know you can just ban blatant racism. There’s no rule saying you have to provide a platform for the world’s worst shitheads.
Oh, wait, I…

Today, I’ve discovered “Hogan’s Law”. It’s like “Godwin’s Law”, but instead of German Nazis, it’s Irish slaves. #HogansLaw #GodwinsLaw
I fear that one of my relatives will die by the savagery of the police, or by the gun-happiness of their own neighbors. #StLouis is a soul-crushing metro area, and my relatives reflect its unhappiness. I don’t like going there. There’s very little that is redeemable about it. I associate STL with relatives being on drugs or mentally ill or illiterate or in overcrowded, rundown houses or religious crazies or in-and-out of jail; the fried rice from the Chinese corner shops are the sole upside. I’m not surprised that the people are coming to violent blows there. #Ferguson #STL

The Speech On Feminism Everyone Should Hear
In her usual style, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie just dropped some awesome feminist knowledge.
In a speech given at Wellesley College’s Commencement ceremony on May 29, the award-winning author discussed feminism, male privilege and daring to speak your mind.
Adichie said that she understood from a young age that the world did not cater to women they way it does men. She knew “that men were not inherently bad or evil. They were merely privileged. And I knew that privilege blinds because it is the nature of privilege to blind.”
She told the crowd of recent graduates that they too now hold a certain privilege after graduating from the prestigious women’s college. “No matter what your background. That degree, and the experience of being here, is a privilege,” she said. “Don’t let it blind you too often. Sometimes you will need to push it aside in order to see…
