Telefest is a novel system for live-streaming mixed reality 360° videos to online streaming services. TeleFest allows a producer to control multiple cameras in real time, providing viewers with different locations for experiencing the concert, and an intermediate software stack allows virtual content to be overlaid with coherent illumination that matches the real-world footage.

My most important album so far. It takes heavy influence from Picopop and Shibuya-kei, mainly on acts such as Capsule and COPTER4016882.

I was conceptualizing this idea as early as 2020 with my dear friend Luok, guy behind beepbox classic Dr. Worm (https://ift.tt/5Mr4d2f). Our idea was a café themed album where each hour corresponded to an hour of the day.

I started making songs for this in mid to late 2020, during my Shibuya-kei obsession peak, with its lounge inspired compositions and toy-like instrumentation. In 2021 Devious and I started working on a little jazz song. It eventually reached (nearly) 7 minutes in lenght and became my longest song (for a while, disconsidering the megalovania remix). This song became the album’s titular song. Most progress on this album was seen between 2021 and 2023.

synopsis:
yaeji and jiji (yaejiji) are partners in crime for this one.

jiji is worn by yaeji on a backpack that looks like a kangaroo sack. a bag with many pockets.
they are both dressed in a “cafe maid” cosplay outfit, riding around in their electric scooter, eating lots of bananas along the way.

yaeji shoves all the banana peels into her jiji kangaroo sack. by the end of their ride she’s collected a ton of peels. (at this time, it’s unclear why, but) they start littering them all around town—mario kart style. two fellow classmates from maid school join in.

soon, we have victims. people are slipping on the peels left and right. some of them are pissed off by this childish prank. yaejiji start gaining pursuers who chase them in various vehicles (skateboard, moped, razor scooter, rollerskate, etc etc)

yaejiji crew is chased and cornered. realizing that their original intent was misunderstood by the victims, they point to the banana peels, urging these people to look closer. it turns out these peels were etched with loving messages (in the language of fortune cookies). everyone bursts out in laughter realizing how silly this situation is!

it’s a silly song with a silly video. but there’s often truth and depth to things that we can laugh to together ♡
