It’s a hard life on easy street
Just white painted picket fences far as you can see
If you think we live in the land of the free
You should try to be black like me

Some coverage from protests in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 30, 2020, three days after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
On May 25, police detained black George Floyd in Minneapolis on suspicion of using a fake $ 20 check at a store.
One of the police officers pressed Floyd’s neck to the ground for more than five minutes with his knee, although he repeated that he could not breathe. As a result, the man lost consciousness, he was taken to the hospital, where he soon died.
Police fired, but protests began in Minneapolis because of Floyd’s death. Protesters began to smash shops, set fire to police stations and office buildings.
A wave of protests swept across America and even the cities of Europe. Supporters of #BlackLivesMatter (#BLM) mixed up on the street with looters who began to smash stores to plunder shopping centers and attack police officers.
The vast majority of demonstrations over the past eight days have been peaceful but some have descended into violence and rioting, with curfews imposed in a number of cities.
At one protest, security forces in Washington DC fired pepper balls and smoke bombs to disperse demonstrators outside the White House, allowing President Donald Trump to walk to a nearby church for a photo opportunity.
In response to this on Thursday, civil rights group the America Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit, accusing the president, the attorney general and others of violating the constitutional rights of protesters.
“When the nation’s top law enforcement officer becomes complicit in the tactics of an autocrat, it chills protected speech for all of us,” said ACLU official Scott Michelman, quoted by Reuters.

Episode 8 comes around in time for Michael to thank white protesters, clap back at brands, help redefine racism and use historical context to argue for defunding the police.
