I’m getting hired (well, sorta)

I should be glad tonight. Beginning next week, I’ll have a “job”.

But I’m not, considering that I’m being hired by Mom’s church (yes, THAT one).

I won’t reference the URL of its site, since any linkage to it could be traced back to this LJ via Google, and I’m rather wary about how computer-literate some members may be (to use Google like that, at least).

However, I am being hired by the head of the church’s Youth department to create their own particular site (which, I suppose, will be semi-autonomous from the church’s site).

It won’t be the first time that I’ve helped them with something in my free time; I installed Adobe CS2 and Final Cut Pro on two of the Video department’s Macbook Pros a few months ago (they also have a PowerMac G5 in the Editing room in the very front of the church).

It shouldn’t be that hard to work on a website, either; I already have an idea of what it’ll be, what it won’t have, and other outstanding features (it’ll be a semi-protected wiki; no Flash except for embedded videos a la YouTube).

But what makes this ironic is that its already been a year since I left for Atlanta in a bid to get away from this institution; now I’m back, in a worse state, and am now being hired by this church (the first job that I’ve had since I worked at the church-owned assisted living facility for the 2nd semester of my 12th grade year).

What a difference a year makes….
