Should I start drinking?

Early this morning, while riding to school (at 6 AM, two hours before class starts), I thought upon the effects of drinking, and how it could affect me mentally.

If weed makes you introverted and slows your senses to a crawl (depending upon how much you’ve smoked), then alcohol is the almost *direct* opposite, as shown in the famous example of Rock Lee from Naruto.

So if weed does that, and, as a result, makes you slow to do anything, then maybe alcohol would make you extroverted and, as a result, somewhat more able to do things that, most of the time, would refuse to come out onto the paper from the thinking stage.

Of course, alcohol would propel such activity to the point of burnout.

But I have many ideas or images which I try to put on paper, or at least set my mind onto long/hard enough to get it done, but never gets out of the thinking stage.

So would alcohol help that?

androgynism, you’d probably know about this better than me.

  1. Well, yes, it would bring things like that out of you when it comes to your writing, but it wouldn’t necessarily be something you’d want to read the next morning. While is accelerates your functions, it also makes you… well… stupid.

  2. No, alchohol simply removes your inhibitions. It doesn’t make you better at anything, it makes you think you’re better at something. It slows your reflexes and fine motor control.

  3. Alcohol is best used in that manner for conversation, as I have experienced it. Wine passed hand to hand in a circle as points are made and explained and grow more and more intense as the wine goes down the gullet. Intense? yes…Sensible? Not all the time. Same for my writings, but then again, I tend to wallow down the well trod path of beatnik-noveau, which flows better with a little bourbon down the gullet.

And my favorite herbal remedy varies in its results. Sometimes, I just want to SHUT OFF the GRAY STUFF and veg for a bit, and I’ll smoke, and do that. But other times I use it for motivation, funny enough. I tend to be the type that gets all wrapped up and can become negative and nitpicky when GOING GOING GOING, so I’ll puff, and clean and sing and puff and scrub and shine…

  4. “Drink, Elgyn?”
    “Constantly”

Actually, I haven’t drank anything of value in some time now because of work, but I’ll return strongly some time šŸ˜›

I’d say this much. Alcohol breaks down a lot of social barriers, but I don’t think it helps creativity
