Why, exactly, do they give a shit?

I mean, there’s a good joke in this second all-Islam bitchfest about the Pope, shit, and the woods, except that the “woods” in this case was Germany. Obviously, it must’ve been so bad that people in Pakistan were smelling it (or, better yet, *snorting it like crack*).

But I’m still wondering why Muslims are giving a shit about what people in Germany (or Denmark) are thinking about Islam. Of course, what the Pope said (even when he was quoting someone else) made the whole Catholic world look a tad bad in the eyes of over 1bn Muslims, but he’s only the head of state of a tiny country that is surrounded by the entire city of Rome.

Plus, Islam isn’t a subset of Catholicism, nor is it under its suzerainty (the predominately Catholic coountries of the world would rather have as few dealings with Muslims as possible). And aren’t they theologically poles apart over the status of Jesus?

So seriously, why do they care?

Is it because they’ll do this when someone else in Europe says something remotely bad about it?
