🕰 Best time to visit? Autumn or Winter (as it is when they’re at their fluffiest!)

↪ P.S.: If you hate zoo environments or any sort of animal enclosure no matter if the conditions are well and good (as per what I witness during my visit), I suggest that you don’t visit this place or it will make you uncomfortable. As for me, I just try to keep an open mind; plus, I don’t immediately shun every animal park, especially if the animals are well-cared for (unless it’s otherwise — do let me know). If it helps to note, foxes are one of the few animals who don’t suffer any type of stress when under captivity — but of course, I do know that it’s ideal to rather let them be in the wild…

Yet again, their chances of survival in the wild is very slim especially with today’s times. Looking at the facts, a fox in the wild has an average life span of 2-4 years only because of diseases, hunting practices and road accidents; but in places like this Fox Village, they can live up to 14 years. (Besides, you cannot imagine the number of people who would ‘kill’ for fox fur, nor the number of people who do fox hunting for fun/sport like the UK for example).

If you want to learn more about the foxes here, please read my blog post: https://ift.tt/2lN7tVx

That Raccoon Cafe In Seoul Everyone Is Hyped About

Inside a raccoon cafe at Hondae, Seoul.

*The entrance fee costs 6~7000 won which is about 5.29 US dollars, and buying drinks is optional. I recommend that you don’t buy drinks unless you’re extremely thirsty, because the guideline says that you should put your drinks up whenever you see a raccoon around your table. If you already bought one, make sure you put it onto somewhere high up.*

These adorable fat, fluffy raccoons run around making troubles literally every second.

With over 288 animal cafes in South Korea, there are some controversies over these industries becoming insanely popular since 2016. Wild mammals including raccoons need a minimum of few hundred㎢ for living space. Putting these animals inside some ㎡ cafes can be extremely stressful, animal professionals say. Plus, if these industries go bankrupt, the animals left behind are likely to end up in animal farms or shelters.

Nonetheless, if these cafes are kept clean with healthy animals, and visitors follow the guidelines with great care, it is definitely one of the best places to visit in Seoul, South Korea.

Don’t forget to wear a hoodie with lot of pockets. Raccoons go CRAZY over digging pockets, pulling hoodie straps, and so on.

Capitalism vs. Freedom

According to the standard account, capitalism—whatever your criticisms of it—is synonymous with freedom. Other systems, we are told, necessitate central planning by undemocratic bureaucracies. But what if that’s not true? Zephyr Teachout explains how capitalism puts us at the whims of employers, bosses, and huge corporations, despite its claims.

What is Sakuga?
Sakuga (作画) literally means drawing in Japanese. But Sakuga also means “artistically impressive animation”.

What is a Sakuga MAD?
MAD stands for Music Anime Douga (Douga means video in Japanese). It’s the same as an AMV. Sakuga MADs are compilations of great animation.

Growing up Black in Nazi Germany – Esther Anumu Fordham

Esther Fordham was a Black woman who, born October 9, 1925 in Hamburg, Germany, came of age during the Nazi era. In this December, 1995 conversation with artist Frank Fitzgerald, Esther discusses her youth, schooling and the reaction of classmates and adult Germans to her specialness. As world conditions darken and war grows to become the norm, she finds discrimination, fear, sorrow and horror, but also generosity and hope.

After the bombings cease, amid the rubble Esther meets and marries an American soldier. Giving birth in an Army hospital, she wonders why she has a whole maternity ward to herself. Later, living in America, she slowly learns about prejudice, segregation and lynchings.

Throughout all, Esther Anumu Fordham strives to see “people as human beings” and succeeds.

In 1997, after having raised a family and worked 20+ years for an airline, Esther retired and returned to Germany. She lived to be 94 years old.

Two 8mm “home movies” made of Esther’s nursery class outings to New York’s Central Park may be of interest. She can be heard and seen briefly in each –

On Ice Cube

All of the 13 points from Ice Cube’s “Contract with Black America” rely on legislation, all of this is the responsibility of Congress, few of these will withstand scrutiny as mere executive orders, and few (if any) of these will pass a 60-vote majority in the Republican Senate.

Furthermore, as we’ve seen throughout the last 3 years, Trump does not control the Republican Senate (he may have been key to a few election wins for them, but he’s currently being kept at arms’ length). Trump’s “Platinum Plan” will not get 60 votes, and the Republican Senators are damn sure not repealing the filibuster.

Similarly, Biden will not control the Democratic Senate, and his only job will be to pass or veto whatever is sent to him by a Democratic Congress.

So Ice Cube can collaborate with Trump’s advisors to perfect the “Platinum Plan” all he wants. Doesn’t mean it’s going to Trump’s desk, or the CWBA to Biden’s, unless the filibuster goes away next year.

And Biden’s campaign was right to answer that this will have to wait until after the election. It’s Schumer who will have to answer that anyway, not Biden. Don’t write a check that you can’t cash from the White House.
