Insooni is a prominent singer, who’s widely known for her mind-blowing performances on stage. The celebrated artist not only wows everyone with her powerful pipes, but is also widely acclaimed for her versatility as a singer, mastering a wide range of music styles including trot, pop and soul. As a 37-year veteran in the music industry, she has continually sought new challenges to better herself as a singer and musician, and this is why she still remains relevant despite a shift in the paradigm of the music industry.
Prior to her success in the music business, however, she faced discrimination as an Afro-Asian in the homogeneous Korean society. Based on her childhood experience, she co-founded Hae Mill School in 2013, with the aim of helping children from multicultural families overcome social prejudices and strive toward their dreams. In 2016, Insooni announced the plans to provide free education at the school to better cater to the students, who are mostly from low socioeconomic households.
The INNERview crew visited Hae Mill School to speak with Insooni about her endeavors in educating bi- and multi-racial children. We were also able to meet with the patrons of the school as well. She answered all of our questions with candor, without a moment of hesitation, and shared stories of her tumultuous life as well as the background story of entering a bodybuilding competition.
Join us on The INNERview this week for a heart-to-heart talk with Insooni, who overcame her own struggles and using her power and influence as a top singer in Korea to help young children and instill in them confidence, hopes and dreams.Visit ‘Arirang Culture’ Official Pages

I live inside my own world of make-believe
Kids screaming in their cradles, profanities
I see the world through eyes covered in ink and bleach
Cross out the ones who heard my cries and watched me weepI love everything
Fire’s spreading all around my room
My world’s so bright
It’s hard to breathe but that’s alright

Why can’t you just let me eat my weight in glee?

Just kicking up daisies
Got one too many quarters in my pockets

https://ift.tt/2zzkTgTNina Simone once said “It’s an artist’s duty to reflect the times.” I wrote this album in four days because I noticed a lot of people were down and needing something to uplift them, make them smile and want to dance during this dark time. I by no means am attempting to diminish the severity of this pandemic, but trying to show that you can still be creative, still have fun and be fabulous from the comfort of your own home. I hope you enjoy, I hope it inspires you to dance (tag me, I will be watching and sharing) and I hope it brightens your day just a tad. Love you all and please stay safe. We are going to get through this. Mwah 💋

I’ll be watching Fair and Equal Michigan’s electronic signature campaign for putting an LGBT anti-discrimination bill on the November ballot. Numerous other organizations have tried gathering signatures by mail or electronically, but many state governments which allow for petitions to put questions on general election ballots specifically mandate (like in Arizona’s constitution for example) that the circulator must witness voters signing the petition in person, and even what sort of ink to use. Courts in Ohio, Montana and Arizona have all ruled against ballot campaigns asking for electronic signatures for such issues as Redistricting reform, Cannabis decriminalization and voting rights expansion, all within the last month.
The Michigan campaign is doing an end run around this requirement by allowing Michigan voters to:
Furthermore, the campaign cites that this is covered under both Michigan’s Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as well as Executive Order 2020-41, both of which provide that e-signatures for legal documents shall have legal effect and shall not be denied enforceability. If they pull this off and can get the prerequisite number of signatures before May 27, this may be the first statewide ballot question in US history to ever be put on a general election ballot using electronic signatures. This could open a new chapter in direct democracy in the United States.
